Planting Squash

We have been really curious about seeds ever since we cut open our pumpkin. The other day during playtime one of the friends found a pumpkin seed in Mme. Wray & Mlle Forfitt's classroom and wanted to plant it. Unfortunately we couldn't plant it because it had been cooked. Luckily for us, Mme Varsa-Miller's class was cutting open a squash and shared some seeds with us. Michael had the wonderful idea to try to plant those instead. Michael brought in a planter and some soil for us and we began to plant them today. Each child who planted a seed wrote their name on a popsicle stick to indicate where their seed is located. We are eagerly awaiting for them to grow! We will continue to blog about the progress of our squash seeds as we learn together how to care for plants.
