Identity Day

Today we hosted Identity Day at SWPS! All the students and teachers were asked to bring in an item, picture, presentation etc. that represented their identity and what makes them special and unique. We got to share our projects with our classmates, teachers and parents! Thanks to everyone who was able to participate. It was a great day and we got to learn more about our friends. Check out some of the things we brought to share:

C'est l'halloween!

Dear Parents and/or Guardians,

With Halloween just around the corner, you may be wondering how we will be celebrating at school.  We will be having a potluck (on Monday, Oct. 31st after our spirit assembly) where we set out healthy treats brought from home.  Fruit platters, vegetable trays, muffins, breads, such as banana or zucchini, cheese and crackers, and other healthy foods are all fabulous options for us to share.  There is a huge assortment of fun things to make at home with your child, so feel free to get creative.  Only healthy treats will be served at school.  Any candy that is brought in will be distributed and sent home with students.  Please remember there are 28 students in our class.

We are also an “allergy-aware” classroom, so please no treats that contain nuts/peanuts.

As an alternative to food, if you would like to contribute craft items or a book for us to read, the children would surely enjoy this too!

Don’t forget that we will be having a Halloween Spirit assembly on Monday, October 31st as well.  Students are encouraged to wear orange and black and Halloween flair, or Purple and Yellow to represent our Spartan colours!
Merci,
Mlle Ouellette et Mlle Tofflemire

Notre livre d'automne

This week we read a book about Autumn that described what happens during this season. One of our friends noticed that there was nothing in the book about Halloween or picking pumpkins, so we decided to make our own fall book to show the things we like about fall. The friends that were interested added writing and pictures to the book. Take a look at what we created!
