Our Jewellery and Make-up Store

This week, some of our friends started making jewellery using the chains. They made belts to attach the jewellery to so they could walk around and sell it. We then decided to turn the puppet theatre into a jewellery store that also evolved into selling make-up and doing makeovers as well. Take a look at the things we are learning!

Next, the students drew some of their ideas for materials we would need and things they would like to include in the centre. We had a business meeting to discuss the ideas and make some plans to set up the centre before we introduced it to the rest of the class.

Now we started making signs and price lists. We sounded out the words together or on our own and used classroom resources to help us as well. 

We made open and closed signs, like the ones we use for our centres.

Here is our store so far!

We added vocabulary words to start learning the words we need in French. We also got makeover planning sheets! We use the sheets to plan what we want to do and choose the colours for each part of the face. We also design the hairstyle as well and practice writing the words of the colours.

We are now making the make-up colours. The friends decided to make a "light palette" and a "dark palette" of colours for the customers to choose from.

Now we are cutting pictures of jewellery and make-up out of magazines to add to our store for people to buy. We made some of our own items in the art centre as well.

We discovered that we could attach the pictures of earrings to the chains so that we can actually wear them.

We added all the new items to the centre. We have brushes, cotton balls, and sponges to use for the makeovers. We have makeup boxes and bags to help sell the items.

We introduced the new store to our friends and everyone had a great time using it! Lots of friends were planning their makeovers and applying to their friends. 

We are selling items to friends and are going to add some play money to the centre in the future.
