Lundi l'art - Matisse

MThis week we looked at the artwork of Henri Matisse!  He used different coloured paper to cut shapes and create pictures.  This is called a collage.  Matisse would call it "painting with scissors."  We used coloured paper, scissors, and glue to make these works of art.  We used all different bright colours.  We could use les lignes droites (straight lines) and les lignes courbés (curved lines).  We also read the book "Snail Trail" that showed another artwork by Matisse.  L'escargot (the snail) was trying to find his portrait that Matisse made.
